Friday 18th May 2007
Weather: Wind and rain.
External temperature: 8.1c
Internal temperature: 22c
Moon Phase: Waxing crescent.
On arrival, a warm friendly atmosphere welcomed us.
Friendly local regulars were finishing off their drinks and chatting about the impending investigation.
We set up base at the rear of the Inn and soon became locked in conversation with a couple of inquisitive locals exchanging stories and folktales.
Jovial bar staff told of experiences in and outside the inn, mainly consisting of the "black lady" and "man dressed in rags" by the roadside.
Once introductions were out of the way, owner John and partner gave us the tour of the inn, and told us of experiences they may have encountered as John is skeptical and unsure.
The investigation soon got underway in the back of the inn; when during a seance members of the team quickly became aware of a presence.
Some felt they were physically touched and others felt tingling sensations on their skin associated with the presence of a spiritual energy.
The touching sensations seamed to be in response and corresponded with our requests.
During the seance one member of the team was psychically given a picture of a hanging tree.
We focused the seance mainly around one of the corners; the temperature in the corner was 2c below the rest of the room.
Taking into account that there is a fireplace near the corner the drop in temperature could be explained scientifically.
Investigation moved through to the front of the inn where we conducted a Ouija Board John gave approval for the use of this communication device.
Information that came through the board was mixed.
Most of the communication made no sense and we took a different approach by pointing to yes and no on the board and asked for yes and no responses.
We then got information, we established that the spirit was female, had been hanged and was looking for her child (a boy aged four).
We shared this information with John and he confirmed that other investigators had picked up on a boy child and female spirit, but no information was passed regarding a hanging.
In summery there was no scientific evidence of paranormal activity. End of report.
